Wiregrass Talent Quest Jr is a non-professional talent competition for children ages 5 to 18 that is also a fundraiser for the center. Contestants participate in one of 4 categories of talent: Dance, Vocal, Instrumental, or Musical Theater. Contestants are judged on Stage Presence (professionalism & technical ability); Appearance/Costume (appropriate to the act); and Difficulty of Selection or Act. Judges are chosen from the southeastern area with expertise in one of the 4 areas of talent and are not associated with the Cultural Arts Center or its Board of Directors. Wiregrass Talent Quest Jr compiles a list each year of students in the performing arts that could be contacted for performances in other settings if parents approve. This year prizes have grown; Overall Winner: 1st place ($500), 2nd place ($250), 3rd place ($150); then Category Awards: best in Dance ($100), best in Vocals ($100), Best in Instrumentals ($100), best in Musical Theater ($100).
